2021: Pilot Launch – Inner Peace & Outer Peace Program

Our story began with a heartfelt initiative from CUHK’s Department of Cultural and Religious Studies, led by Dr. Chow Wai Yin. The team launched the Inner Peace & Outer Peace: Narrative Approach to Peace Education pilot in Hong Kong secondary schools to address teen challenges such as emotional distress, depression, bullying, and suicide.

Through storytelling inspired by religious narratives, the programme guided students toward Acceptance, Compassion, and Transcendence (ACT values). The results were inspiring—youth reported calmer minds, richer peace awareness, and improved relationships. Over 1,200 S2–S6 students participated, sparking growing interest across schools.
